This February, Freeform launches Young, Black & Freeform, an all-year-every-year celebration of Black excellence in the world of entertainment, anchored in Freeform talent in front of and behind the camera, expanding to include and amplify influential young Black creatives from around the globe.

Freeform approached UNA with a task of designing a bold logo-type that celebrates the genius and greatness of the black community. Blackness is not a one-month existence and neither is this Black History Month campaign—therefore the logo should represent next wave of black creative genius and their bold creativity, their genius and their ability to define pop culture.
The result was to create a unique logo that speaks beyond the movement and compliment the already existing Freeform branding. A logo that speaks to a system that intentionally degrade the genius of people in the black community. The type style was designed intentional to be bold and expressive.
